   Thérèse NEGRE
In the margin of the up-to-date trend, but in a permanent dialogue with environment and nature, Thérèse Nègre, who is a sculptor, a ceramist and a photographer of the ocean deeps, traces new and original paths.

Engaged in a passionate plastic exchange with steel and stone, the artist realizes on one side large size metallic constructions, in “an economic writing but not without complexity”, on the other side in a direct approach, marble cut works.

Preoccupied by inhabiting different places and to establish a vibratory exchange with the environment, she creates worlds and universes that bind us to the forces and omnipresence of nature, facing the human being, worlds full of poetry, where the quest for the essential and the essence of the material are crucial in her researches.

Although being used to exhibit in open air areas, the artist shows for the first time small size works, intended to integrate inner spaces. Creations of stone and glass, games of transparency in a specific conversation with opaque mineralogical masses, these works offer a dialogue between sculpted shapes and inside paths of the multi faceted translucent and hazardous silica. Named Banquise, Sonorité marine, Tumulte Océanique, Lame de fond, Marée, Assaut du vent, it is an aquatic and magic world that the artist proposes with these sculptures.
All of them are reproduced in a marvellous biography of the artist, edited for the occasion of the exhibition, which will come out and be available on the evening of the vernissage, on May 10th. Thérèse Nègre will have the pleasure to sign it for you.
